A domain transfer refers to the process of moving your domain name from one registrar to another. Perhaps you found a better deal or superior customer service with a different company. Transferring your domain involves unlocking the domain at your current registrar, obtaining a transfer authorization code (also known as EPP code), and initiating the transfer at your new registrar. Follow the guide below to transfer your domain to/from Kwikaweb:

1. To ensure that your domain name can be transferred, check the following criteria:

- The domain name was registered at least 60 days ago and has been with your current Registrar for a minimum of 60 days. ICANN's Policy on Transfer of Registrations between Registrars prohibits the transfer of domains that are less than 60 days old or have been transferred between Registrars within the last 60 days. Please wait for at least 60 days before initiating the transfer.
- The domain name is not on hold with your current Registrar.
- Unlock your domain by removing any Registrar lock set for added security.
- Obtain the Auth/EPP code from your current Registrar or Kwikaweb. Please note that Auth/EPP codes are necessary for transferring domains such as .com, .net, .org, .us, .biz, .info, .ng, .com.ng, .org.ng and other new gTLD domains. If you are unable to request an EPP code through your Registrar's account, contact them to provide it to you.

2. Initiate the domain name transfer to Kwikaweb:

- Visit the Kwikaweb Domain Transfer Page.
- Enter the domain you wish to transfer and click on "Transfer."
- If you are not logged in, a security verification may be required on the redirected page. If you are already logged in, this step will be skipped.
- A modal will appear, prompting you to enter the EPP Code/Auth Code.
- Select the ID protection option, which is typically free for most domain TLDs offered.
- If you wish to use custom nameservers, you can enter them below. By default, new domains will use Kwikaweb's nameservers for hosting on their network. After making your selections, click "Continue."
- On the review and checkout page, you can modify the price/cycle if needed. If there are any ongoing promotions, you can enter a promo code to validate it for your order. If you are not logged in, you will need to either log in as an existing customer or create a new account.
- If you are transferring the domain on behalf of someone else or an entity and need to specify alternative registered contact details, provide the necessary information in this section. If this is not applicable, you can skip this step.
- Choose your preferred payment method and proceed to checkout.
- Depending on your payment method, the transfer order will be initiated at the Registry, and the domain will enter a "pendingTransfer" status. Transfers at this stage are typically confirmed automatically within 5 days. The Registry may require an additional 24-48 hours to complete the transfer.

3. To transfer your domain name from Kwikaweb:

- Visit Kwikaweb Domain Dashboard Page.
- Locate the manage menu and click on "Registrar Lock." Confirm that the Registrar Lock Status is off. If it is enabled, simply toggle the button to turn it off.
- On the manage menu, click on "Get EPP Code" and provide the required information to the Registrar you wish to transfer to.
